Originally from Tuxtepec, Oaxaca, Orlando Chavez moved to Michigan at the age of 19 and has spent more than a decade supporting Hispanic communities throughout Metro Detroit.

A significant part of his work has focused on autism awareness and support for Hispanic families with autistic children. He has helped organize annual autism awareness events and community initiatives involving dozens of local families.

Orlando joined CasArt Foundation in 2022 and currently serves as Director of Social Media & Community Outreach, helping expand the organization’s visibility and community impact.

He is also a dancer and coordinator for Joyas de México Ballet Folklórico and Matices, performing throughout Michigan and neighboring states while promoting Mexican culture through dance.
