Who We Are
Rooted in culture. Driven by purpose.
CasArt Foundation preserves, celebrates, and elevates Latino culture through art, creating meaningful connections and lasting impact in the communities we serve.
Our History
Culture is not just something we celebrate, it’s something we carry, protect, and pass on.
CasArt Foundation began with one woman’s passion to share the beauty of her heritage. Luly del Real, originally from Mexico, dedicated part of her life to preserving and sharing Mexican culture through art and folklore, especially traditional dance.
From a small folkloric dance group to one of Michigan’s leading Latino cultural organizations.
For more than two decades, Luly del Real has dedicated her life to preserving Mexican culture through dance, education, and artistic expression.
What started as a small group of children learning folkloric dance grew into something much more meaningful. Through Luly’s guidance, these students didn’t just learn choreography; they experienced the richness, pride, and identity of their culture.
As the community grew, so did the vision. Mothers of the students became involved, leading to the creation of a second dance group. Together, these groups became the foundation of what would later become CasArt.
Over time, Luly’s vision expanded beyond dance. She brought together others who shared her passion for cultural expression, incorporating new artistic disciplines such as painting, music, and theater.
Today, CasArt Foundation is a vibrant community of dancers, artists, creators, and volunteers, all united by a shared commitment to preserving culture, elevating voices, and creating spaces where heritage is not only remembered but lived.
At the heart of CasArt Foundation are values that guide everything we do — service, respect, commitment, humility, professionalism, and hard work.
These values are reflected in every program we create, every artist we support, and every community we serve.
Today, CasArt Foundation’s impact continues to grow from Pontiac, Michigan, reaching communities across the Metro Detroit area.
